Founded by Aisu Hyƫga-no-Kami Iko(sai) (Aisu Uturiga (Iko)sai Satada). (here on out abbreviated Aisu) (founded 1490)This densho is for the main line. The main line's name was changed to Sarutobi Kageno Ryu by his son (Hidasawa Ko(shi)chiro-Genkasai Soutu) (Aisu Koshichiro) after his father Aisu died. The main line continued on by the Hir(/d)asawa family. Also, one of the Soke of Nen Ryu (Saru No Gozen) was Aisu's ancestor. This is the original Kage Ryu and is one of the 3 schools which Shin-Kage Ryu (New Kage School) is based (the other two being Nen Ryu and Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto Ryu). The soke line which starts with Kamiizumi Shintsuna (BRD) (as a student of Aisu) is actually called the Aisu Uturiga Ryu not (Aisu) Kage Ryu. Aisu Uturiga Ryu is a branch of (Aisu) Kage Ryu, it is not the main line. Though there is a theory that he is the son of Kamizumi Shintsuna the timeline seems much too short. (18 years) as well as there being documents signed in both names to Yagyu Munetoshi from Kamiizumi Hidetsuna. In turn his disciple Yagyu Munetoshi founded Yagyu ShinKage Ryu.
